Two SimWorks iFlag displays mounted on a sim racing rig

Running Two iFlags in SimHub

Running two iFlags side by side means telling SimHub which display shows what. The SimWorks Plugin handles all of this for you, so for most people that is the whole answer. The manual route is below for anyone who wants it.

The easy way

Let the plugin do it

The free SimWorks Plugin manages multiple iFlags on its own, so none of the manual steps below are needed. Install it and both displays are handled for you.

You need two data cables

Both iFlags need a USB-C data cable, not charge only. With two displays this trips people up more often, because one cable is frequently a spare pulled out of a drawer. If only one iFlag shows up in SimHub, suspect the second cable before anything else. The SimWorks USB-C data cable is the correct type, and can be added to any product at checkout.

How do I set up two iFlags manually in SimHub?

1

Open the hardware settings

Click Arduino in the menu on the left, then My Hardware at the top right, and choose Multiple Arduino.

2

Check both are recognised

Both iFlags should appear, each with a different name. If they are showing the same name, SimHub cannot tell them apart and nothing below will work properly. Ask on the SimWorks Discord and you will be walked through renaming one of them.

3

Assign the matrix content

With two displays you need two sets of content, so duplicate the When Game is Running folder. Then, under Matrix Start Position, choose what each iFlag shows:

  • 1 for the first iFlag
  • 2 for the second

Worth double checking these, since a wrong start position is what sends the right content to the wrong display.

4

Import a profile

Open the RGB Matrix tab, click Profile Manager, then Import Profile. Profiles are in the download section of the SimWorks Discord.

Two iFlags not working? Common fixes

Why do both displays show the same thing?

The When Game is Running folder has not been duplicated, or both copies are pointing at the same matrix start position. Set one to 1 and the other to 2.

Why is only one iFlag listed in SimHub?

Check the second display is on a USB-C data cable rather than a charge only one, and that both are in PC ports or a powered hub. If both appear but share a name, that needs sorting before anything else.

Is there an easier way to do all this?

Yes, and that is exactly why the plugin exists. Installing it removes every step above.

Still stuck?

The SimWorks Discord is the fastest place to get an answer, and multi display setups are a common topic there. Profiles live in the download section.
